Lake of Blood’s “As Time and Tide Erodes Stone”

Originally issued on CD by Human Jigsaw records, Lake of Blood’s “As Time and Tide Erodes Stone” has become a new classic in the ranks doomed California black metal. Heavily atmospheric, viciously intense, and dedicated to the bone, Lake of Blood have gained a reputation for ear swallowing performances and this recording showcases the feral entity's aggressive, dissonant take on black metal which weaves together the genre's puritanical roots with elements of DOOM!
The Flenser vinyl edition features new artwork by Nate Burns. Jackets are heavy and come with a small poster. 500 units. 100 on white vinyl. The test copy sounds great and this will ship mid to late January.

Lycus’s “Demo MMXI”

Lycus’s “Demo MMXI” was one of the most important doom releases of 2011 having adorned many year end lists. The Flenser feel that these three majestic compositions demand to be ensconced within the loving organic memory of virgin vinyl grooves, and now, finally, the twain shall meet. Don’t sleep on this.

Recorded by Greg Wilkinson (Brainoil, Laudanum, Worm Ouroboros) and mastered for vinyl by Colin Marston (Krallice, Loss, Jarboe). Download the newly mastered version of the album here for free.

500 units with 100 on green and black splatter vinyl. Reverse board jackets on heavy stock with new artwork by Bryan Proteau.  The test pressing showcases one of the best vinyl mastering jobs we have ever been apart of!

VULTURE INDUSTRIES will play two shows in February, which will see the Norwegian Progressive Extreme Metallers perform a set which will include some unexpected material that the band is rehearsing especially for these two performances. Also making a guest appearance for some of the set will be TAAKE front man Hoest.
The first of the two dates will take place on the 3rd February at Dirty Skunks, in the Kino Siska, an old movie theatre in Ljubljana, Slovenia.  Entrance to this show will be free, as the venue will be celebrating its tenth anniversary.  The second date will be on the 4th February at Blue Hell in Budapest, and will mark VULTURE INDUSTRIES’ first ever appearance in Hungary.
Based in Bergen, and with two critically acclaimed releases on DARK ESSENCE RECORDS under their belts, VULTURE INDUSTRIES’ line up is composed of Bjornar Nilsen (BLACK HOLE GENERATOR) on vocals, keys and programming, guitarists Øyvind Madsen (SULPHUR, ex-ENSLAVED) and Eivind Huse (SULPHUR), Kyrre Teigen on bass and Tor Helge Gjengedal (ex-TAAKE) on drums.   Nilsen, who also happens to be TAAKE’s producer, is known for his highly theatrical on-stage performances, and the additional appearance of Hoest, one of Black Metal’s most focussed and dynamic front men, is an indication that these two shows promise to be something very special.

HUNTRESS - Eight of Swords | Napalm Records

The heavy metal outfit revolving around lead singer Jill Janus unleashes the first song of their highly anticipated debut. The digital single "Eight of Swords" possesses all the ingredients a metal fan could wish for: head-splitting drums, heavy riffs, melodic leads, and a catchy refrain that will stand the test of time. "Eight of Swords" is a blood-soaked testament to the band's ability to unite might with melody and crown it with Jill's powerful vocals. Fans of traditional metal should not allow this single to pass them by, so they too may witness the birth of a legend!

Available on iTunes, Amazon and any other major digital vendor!

Novembers Doom: Check out the video for "Harvest Scythe"

After the release of depressive music video for "What Could Have Been" (featuring the singer Anneke Van Giersbergen) in the last 15 days the Novembers Doom has announced the release of "Harvest Scythe," music video for another song from his recent album "Aphotic".

Rated by many as one of the best releases of 2011, Novembers Doom leaves clear marks of its success: the fusion of depression, brutality and darkness in their music.

"The song is about an internal conflict in the mind of a person with multiple personalities, and unable to fight against them. The house represents her mind, where he is 'stuck'. The different clothes he wears, the way he write on the floor ... Everything in the video has an emotional representation of the character,"says band founder and lead singer Paul Kuhr, to the site MetalSucks.

Check out below the video clip of "Harvest Scythe" and "What Could Have Been".

BIRTH AD Hits the Studio January 3rd

The time is now. Dynamic crossover killers BIRTH A.D. will enter Pyramid Sound on January 3rd to record the highly anticipated full-length follow up to their critically acclaimed Stillbirth of a Nation EP. Titled I Blame You, the album will be engineered and produced by Alex Perialas (SOD, Testament, Overkill, Carnivore, Nuclear Assault).

"We chose Alex not only because he presided over many releases that allowed Birth A.D. to exist," explains vocalist/bassist Jeff Tandy, "but also he is still a commando producer of the highest order. He is very hands-on, and sometimes his enthusiasm exceeds our own. With his direction the new album will be amazing no matter what!" The album will be recorded, mixed and mastered in the space of 12 days. I Blame You will also feature a guest appearance by Rotting Christ front man Saki Tolis. "Sakis has already been a strong supporter of the band," says Tandy. "The fact that he offered to appear on the new album is a huge honor. He knows his metal, so we couldn't ask for a better endorsement." BIRTH A.D. is currently seeking label support so they can cause problems worldwide!

SATURNIAN live performance at the Eindhoven Metal Meeting

Below you can watch a live performance of Saturnian at the Eindhoven Metal Meeting in the Effenaar on saturday 17th december 2011.Video cortesy of  youtubeuser.ovd806.

From the ashes of 2010 rises Saturnian, a new breed of Extreme Symphonic Metal. Saturnian are a 6 piece from the United Kingdom, proud of a country rich in metal history, and ready to usher in a new age charged with its pedigree. Saturnian was formed around one main principle – to create epic and majestic metal songs to enchant fans of all metal genres; delivered in a grand and dramatic style that could soundtrack a blockbuster movie or theatrical performance. Expect razor sharp riffing, fist pounding rhythms, and a symphonic backbone worthy of the armies of Hell, or the far reaches of the universe. In true portentous British style, this is rounded out by a massive choral explosion, soaring sopranos, and ritualistic Gregorian chant. This ethos comes to life in the Saturnian live experience, which in itself is a theatrical spectacle as opposed to a generic recital of metal songs. Saturnian breeds an eclectic blend of voices, stunning instrumental performances, and a visual experience that will amaze, mystify and inspire!

This is just the beginning...

Traces of the Past

Saturnian released the EP "Reflections Of A Forlorn Sun" under Siege of Amida Records under the name "Traces" in 2009.
